SOCIAL & GENETIC COUNSELING

The Social & Genetic Counseling service provides crucial support and guidance to individuals and families affected by thalassemia. Our compassionate counselors offer a safe space for discussing the emotional and practical aspects of living with thalassemia, as well as providing education about the genetic implications and inheritance patterns of the condition. Through personalized counseling sessions, we empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health and family planning, fostering resilience and well-being within the community.

Counseling plays a key role in any prevention program. Considering the social taboos and fears in our society, we understand that we would not be successful in our aims if the patients’ families, professionals and general public is not properly educated on the disease. We are already conducting group and individual counseling sessions and to spread this program to at least 700 families with Thalassemic children.
